can't get transparency effect to work

I want the first track to display with some transparency over the second trac, so i set 2 tracks, put the transparency effect on the first one.. nothing happens (changing transparency settings doesn't change anything). Is it a bug or am I missing something?

Same problem here. Blue screen not working.
It worked before(in 0.6...versions) And there was some transition, that provided same effect, but now nothing works.
I had to make all my transparency in blender, with nodes, and a lot of pain, because it's not a video editor.

Now Kdenlive looks beautiful, but still it is almost useless.

Here is a workaround to get the blue screen effect working like in previous Kdenlive versions (please note that this effect is far from perfect and produces rather pixelated results around the edge...):

  • Put background clip on track 2.
  • Put overlay clip on track 1.
  • Add Blue Screen effect to overlay clip.
  • Add composite transition to overlay clip.
  • Adjust Blue screen effect parameters (color & variance).

thanx for the tip for the bluescreen.

As the transparency effect became.. transparent.. in the last svn, i did it with the composite transition, it's a bit odd to tweak the size of the video you want transparent but it does the job.
