When you add a video file, the "DeVeDe" software has a very graphical and useful "advanced option": the scaling mode to the final picture.
It's difficult to control the final aspect for videos with source picture sizes different to standards (320x240, 720x576,..)
I don't know if it would be better to make it at export dialog or as an effect.
