crashes when try to render

Hi all using kdenlive 0.8.2.1 in linux mint debian edition, the problem I have is whenever I try to render a file it crashes (have tried different file types and different render options, but always get the same error message: Rendering of /home/stripe/kdenlive/untitled.mp4 crashed
[swscaler @ 0x7fd1a00008e0] Warning: data is not aligned! This can lead to a speedloss

any body have any ideas

Searching here at the forum will give you an indication of various reasons and solutions. For me rendering was crashing because I had a certain LADSPA plugin called tap-plugins, once I uninstalled that all rendering worked again.

The bug tracker is another useful place to search.

The data misaligned entries are warnings not to do with any crashing.
