You can import a kdenlive project as a clip which you probably are aware of but it's currently not possible to be selective in what tracks get imported at least not without manually editing the XML .kdenlive file.
Might be a useful addition to the import options and or ability to have a second timeline in the same tab to import a project into and then be able to copy/paste drag/drop between the two.
