Kiteboarding - Very first kdenlive project

Hey guys.

Here is my first video edited using kdenlive.

I would appreciate any comments on all aspects of the video. As this was my first project, I only used simple cuts and transitions, but would love to improve my video editing abilities.

The footage is of me kiteboarding, so afraid the camera work isn't mine, though any comments on that would also be appreciated, so I know where I can avoid problems in future.

I think the biggest improvement would be a good tripod with a "fluid" head...

Or at least a monopod and a longish sidearm for smoother panning.

Thanks for the comments!

I'm hoping to do some more filming myself at some stage so will keep a tri/mono pod in mind. I'm also having a play around with the stabilization features of the command line 'transcode' program, so may try remaking the video at some stage after stabilizing all the shots.

EDIT: So I tried using the stabilization feature of transcode and it actually did a pretty good job of tidying things up. I'm obviously left with a few edge effects, where the wobble was really bad. Presumably the only way to get rid of these is to crop/zoom to remove the edges?

More or less that is the only thing you can do. If the wobble is of very short duration (a few frames) you can cut it out. This will make a "jump cut", which you can try to "soften" with some transition...
