Project monitor slow down when I insert a transition

Hi to all, and congratulations for kdenlive!!!

Here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jemvS942IJY you can see my problem in action (seconds: 6 to 9 and 13 to 17).

When I insert a simple transition (dissolve for example) the project monitor slows down.

I'm using:
ubuntu 10.10
kdenlive 0.7.8 from sunap PPA
kde 4.5.1
melt 0.5.7

My hardware:
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E7500 @ 2.93GHz
4GB RAM
nvidia GeForce 6200 TurboCache(512MB)

the exaple video it's H.264 / AVC with 30 fps 1024x576 but I tried with divx4/divx5/mpeg ... with the same result.

What's happening? what can I try?

This is a pre-release package of kdenlive 0.8. I made that to address the problems using mlt 0.7.0 and kdenlive 0.7.8. New mlt with "too old" kdenlive, to simplify the problem.
