 A patch is ready for proper background support, should be committed soon.

 Ok, there were 2 issues:

1- background not restored when opening a title in Kdenlive:
fixed in Kdenlive svn rev. 3826

2- Background not displayed in video preview / rendering:
MLT patch pending
