| Summary | 0001184: avoid to deselect things when clicking in empty space | ||||||||||||
| Description | Hi, I'm not sure, but I think it would make sense to keep the selected clip/transition selected when moving the timeline cursor, by click and drag in empty space of the timeline, because the clip/transition stay selected when doing this action in the timeline ruler... Actually we have to select the clip/transition again, when moving the timeline cursor to a new position, although we want to do some more adjustments on an effect, for example, and this extra operation should be avoided IMHO... So, I vote to let the clip/transition keep selected, because we are doing just the same action == moving the timeline cursor. But maybe I'm just wrong...although I hope not... ;) greetings | ||||||||||||

I do not really understand why you suggest that, because you have the choice: - if you click on the timeline ruler, the current selected clip stays selected - if you click on empty space, then the clip is unselected Unselecting a clip is usually interesting because it has an effect on what you see in the project monitor. So my guess is that you should move the timeline using the toolbar above the clips and what is selected will stay selected :) |
