|0001530||Kdenlive||Transitions||public||2010-03-24 17:37||2010-03-26 12:36|
|Platform||64 bit||OS||Kubuntu Linux||OS Version||9.10|
|Target Version||Fixed in Version|
|Summary||0001530: faulty red rectangle positions saved with Composite transition|
|Description||When using a simple Composite transition and you change the position of the red rectangle, the changed position is saved and rendered faulty.|
|Steps To Reproduce||1. Put a clip or PNG file with an alpha channel on Track 1.|
2. Put a clip on Track 2.
3. Add the "Composite" transition (kdenlive wording) to the clip on Track 1 and give a useful length.
4. Edit the transition
5. Move the red rectangle some pixels *upwards*.
6. If you select a different item, say, the clip on Track 2 and go back to select the Composite transition again, the red rectangle is shown moved *downwards* the same amount that you originally moved it *upwards*.
7. If you move the red rectangle *downwards* in step 5, the red rectangle totally disappears after deselecting an selecting it again. From my various tests I know, that in reality it has moved so much downwards, that it cannot be seen anymore.
|Additional Information||In a different issue with the Composite transition it is said, that the problem might occur because of a picture size that differs from the profile video size. With Version 0.7.7.1 I can not confirm this. The problem described above also occurs if I use a picture that has the same size as the profile video size (1280 by 720 in my case).|
This is a kubuntu 9.10 installation from the sunab ppa repository.

|I selected the "major" severity because with this bug, the Composite transition is unusable.|
|I cannot reproduce... which MLT version do you have? Are you using Kdenlive in a non english loclae?|
I am using MLT 0.5-0ubuntu0~karmic1 which comes from the sunab ppa repository. The configuration wizard also reports MLT version 0.5.0.
And yes, I am using german locale, de_DE.UTF-8.
|I tried with German locale, but still cannot reproduce. Can you start a new project, repeat until step 5 then save your project and attach it here? Also let me know which project profile you are using... thanks|
I did not know if you want me to save before step 5 or after. So, I uploaded both versions. Before the second kdenlive file I moved the red rectangle *upwards* but when I selected the Composite transition, the red rectangle was moved *downwards* the same amount.
Now, that I am playing around, I find that if I open the saved project files, then everything displays and renders OK.
So, it seems that this only occurs until the project is saved the first time!
As you see in the "steps to reproduce" I did not save before the problem occurs.
After testing several times now I can confirm: this problem only occurs before the project is saved for the first time.
I am using the profile "HD 720p 59.94 fps".
