| Summary | 0001567: Number if threads used is a pain to update. | ||||||||||||
| Description | There is no global variable to set for the amount of CPUs that kdenlive uses. When I switch from my laptop ( dual core ) to my desktop ( quad core ) it takes a bit of time to change the number of threads that will be used in the trans coding and rendering. It would be nice to have a place that allows you to set up how many CPU's to allow kdenlive to use. | ||||||||||||

While I agree, I just want to add another way to do this is to _not_ set the threads and to set the environment variable MLT_AVFORMAT_THREADS=N when launching kdenlive. MLT will use this for both decoding threads and encoding threads, where available. So, be careful not to set this too high. |
