| Summary | 0001996: Histogram / waveform monitor will refresh repeatedly even with refresh disabled. Resource hog prevents normal playback. | ||||||||||||
| Description | Every session when I have a histogram or waveform monitor open whilst editing or playing clips back the scopes will start to constantly refresh, even with refresh off unticked and do so even when a clip is not playing or has finished playing. Trying to play a clip after that is impossible, the constant refresh seems to take a lot of resources. So I have to close the histogram or waveform panel and reopen it. I then get normal playback and the histogram stays still. For a while then it all goes wrong again and starts refreshing. Have same problem with waveform monitor and to clarify this is with the refresh tick box unticked. | ||||||||||||

Sorry, did not see this earlier. I cannot reproduce this here. Could you give me some more details? * When starting kdenlive, which scopes are enabled? Do you change this afterwards? * Regarding the other colour scopes, are they set to «Refresh» (no matter whether shown or not)? * Are you using the SVN version? (Then you could enable some debugging options) * Shouldn't make a difference, but are you using kde or a different desktop? * Can you make out when exactly the behaviour changes? E.g. are the scopes in a stack, and does refresh start when hiding a widget and showing it again, or just randomly? |

This should be fixed in the refactoring branch with the introduction of the ScopeManager. Could you maybe test again when it is in the main branch? |
