| Summary | 0002058: Fade out effect duration changes when shortening clip | ||||||||||||
| Description | When a clip has a fade out audio and fade to black transitions applied, dragging the end of the clip shorter changes the fade to black duration to the entire clip. Reported durations for both are shown in correctly in the effects stack tab. Audio is shown as zero, but still "plays" as the default 3 seconds. The fade to black if applied through the whole track | ||||||||||||
| Steps To Reproduce | 1. insert DNxHD (1080p 25fps 36000k) clip to the timeline (not sure if this happens with other formats) 2. Add fade to black and fade out effects 3. drag the end of the clip longer or shorter | ||||||||||||
| Additional Information | Does not happen with fade in and fade from black. Also does not happen if just fade to black is applied, has to have audio fade out too. Attached is the project after the error occurred | ||||||||||||

OK, this ONLY happens when a clip has been cut from its original size before adding the effects. If a full un editing clip is added, then the fades are fine. This can either be done with start end end zones on the clip monitor or making the cuts in the timeline After deleting the dodgey effects and adding a fade from black, this effect is also screwed and has an odd duration, one came up as being 4 minutes long! |

In svn rev. 5487 I did a small update to clip cutting: Fade in and fade from black will stay with the first part (already worked like this) and fade out and fade from black will stay with the second part of the cut clip. Additionally the effect stack was not updated properly. Could you please retest? |

hi, thanks for looking into this. Have just updated to sunab svn latest and this still occurs on existing and new project. BUT, just looking at the rev number in Synaptic Package manager and it is showing as rev 5471, so not the latest as you suggest with rev 5487 I assumed these where always the latest! Is building from source the only way to get the latest rev? |

OK, looks like they have been built to latest, now on rev 5491 and can still replicate the above Cheers |
