| Description | I'm using the last SVN and Git versions of both Kdenlive, frei0r and MLT, and I can't use composite properly when targeting "black" | ||||||||||||
| Steps To Reproduce | I try to composite a logo on every visible tracks in my project, to do that I make a composite transition targeting Black, and with the current svn, nothing ! My logo goes in the background or something (it disappeared). | ||||||||||||
| Additional Information | I'am french so I use the translated version (I don't know if this information is really useful, maybe if the translation system is involved). | ||||||||||||

Does it work when starting kdenlive in the terminal like this: 'LC_NUMERIC=C kdenlive' (without the '') |

Same problem with LC_NUMERIC=C and LANG=C. |

You have to composite the other clips over black, too. |

It's not always possible, I just uploaded an over case that show the problem that i'm always confronted. On this over case, I can't composite the over track on black. |

Thanks, that's a nice workaround. I remember (wrongly ?) that i was able to composite a track on black without the need to composite on black the overs in 0.7.7. And in that case the clip composited on black was on top of the overs. Are you planning on a cleaner way of thinking compositing in Kdenlive ? I think a better way of doing this is setting the compositing track by track. An over thing really annoying with composite being a transition is the impossibility of using a transition at the end of a composited track. Granted we can make a fade in/fade out with compositing anyway. Thank you for taking me seriously and investigating my little problem, and thank you for all the great work on Kdenlive, I'm now using Kdenlive mostly exclusively (I'am using Cinelerra a little less every years !) |

I have not understand very well. Is this a bug or a feature ? If it works like it should be, then you can close this bug. I will open a feature request in place. (to add a composite "on top" option after the 0.8.2 release) because compositing on black have its limits. |

There are plans to get rid of the composite "transition" from a user point of view and make clips automatically composite on top of each other. However no details were discussed yet and it's uncertain when this is going to happen. |
