|0000236||Kdenlive||Effects||public||2008-10-21 10:54||2008-11-12 22:22|
|Product Version||Recent git|
|Target Version||0.7.0||Fixed in Version||0.7.0|
|Summary||0000236: Effect order is ignored|
|Description||When applying effects to videos, the order they are stacked seems to be ignored. For example, if you see the image attached, a blur before a threshold effect looks very different to a blur after a threshold. In Kdenlive 0.7 SVN#23894 both look like the threshold effect is applied first.|
|Additional Information||Kubuntu Hardy 8.04.1 KDE 4.1.2|

effect_order_demo_notes.jpg [^] (116,446 bytes) 2008-10-21 11:11
|effect_order_demo_notes.jpg shows two screengrabs pointing out that the effect order has changed, but neither the project monitor or the timeline text clip order reflect this.|

Sorry, that should Kdenlive SVN revision # should be *2521* not 23894. (PS MLT is Revision 1188 and ffmpeg is 15959).

Acknowledged for revision 2527.
Clarification: The order in which the effects are initially applied, _does_ matter. Applying threshold before blur, produces a different effect, from applying blur before threshold. However, in both cases, the effects appear in the same order on the clip (alphabetical?), and moving them (using the arrow keys) up and down in the effect stack does not change the cumulative effect of the effects.
So, a workaround is to apply in "correct order", but clearly this should be fixed.
This issue has been partially resolved in svn rev. 2542. The order of effects now can be adjusted.
However there are problems with adjusting the parameters for an effect now. Here is how to reproduce a weird case:
- start kdenlive
- add a clip
- add the clip to the timeline
- add the threshold effect to the clip
- add the box blur effect to the clip
- click on box blur in effect list, adjust horizontal multiplier to 27 (thereabout)
- adjust thredshold to 149 (thereabout)
- click on box blur, move it up (up arrow)
- adjust horisontal multiplikator to 0
thredshold no longer has an effect:
- click on threshold, and adjust slide, no visible differences.
In order to get threshold to have an effect, click disable, then enable.
|Fixed and tested in svn rev. 2545|
