| Summary | 0002372: Applying effect on a clip changes ratio from 16/9 to 4/3 | ||||||||||||
| Description | When I apply speed effect or black&white effect, the video clip which was genuinely in a 16/9 DV-PAL format, switches to 4/3 ratio. It does not affect the rest of the timeline, but only the clip on which the effect is applied. I tried to export my editing, and the exported video is affected as well (also only during the clip with the effect). | ||||||||||||
| Steps To Reproduce | Edit a 16/9 DV-PAL video Select a clip in the timeline Add speed effect or black&white effect The clip is now in 4/3 ratio | ||||||||||||
| Additional Information | With Kdenlive 0.8, this issue only appeared with the black&and white effect. Now I've upgraded to 0.8.2, and the bug exists with both speed and b&w effect. kdenlive 0.8.2-0ubuntu0~sunab~natty1 libmlt4 0.7.6-0ubuntu0~sunab~natty1 frei0r-plugins 1.3.0+git20111010.16cfe66a-0ubuntu0~sunab~natty1 | ||||||||||||

I could partially reproduce the problem with the speed effect, but only when using melt, not inside Kdenlive. I have a patch ready for MLT to fix this. However I cannot reproduce using the "Black&White" effect... Are you talking about the "greyscale" effect or another one? Anyways, it would be great if you could create a simple project (2 clips in timeline, with the 2 problematic effects applied), and attach the .kdenlive project file here. |

I tried to change the values of the speed effect, and it appears that : - it happens only whith some values, for example at 200% the ratio is changed and at 199% or 201% it's not changed - it happens only if I have a quite long editing in my timeline. It tried to create a simple project with only some plans as you required but the ratio was not changed using any value of speed |
