The only other significant changes to this system was a glibc update and a gcc update. Both are now at the latest released version.

(0007505) j-b-m (administrator) 2011-11-05 17:48	The crash seems to happen in SDL. Do other apps using sdl work, like ffplay or MLT's command line player: melt myclip.mpg -consumer sdl_preview

(0007506) evorster (reporter) 2011-11-05 20:24	It's a bit late to try now. I have restored my root filesystem from a backup before updating glibc. I have updated gcc again, and recompiled everything on the system with it. So, the only difference between the last system and this one is the glibc version. I saw the problems with version 2.14, but am not seeing it with glibc 2.13.2 Once I have done the video editing I wanted to, I can only update glibc to the latest version, and see if the undesired behavior returns.
