| Summary | 0002399: Would like to be able to delete files from disk inside kdenlive. | ||||||||||||
| Description | Sometimes a clip is so bad that there is just nothing good in it. I would like to delete such a clip from the disk inside kdenlive. I know that this is potentially a dangerous feature, but the best features usually are, so this could be enabled in the setup menu, and also have a confirmation screen. | ||||||||||||

There already is a slightly similar option, in Project > Project Settings > Project Files. There you can delete the unused clips of your project (delete the files), with a big warning. Deleting the files from project tree seems a bit dangerous, maybe we could extend the current deletion feature so that user can select which unused clips to delete... |

That option sounds like it's a bit dangerous, as it involves deleting a lot of clips that one is not seeing. Having a "delete from project" and an optional "delete from disk" in the context menu of the project tree, with a warning for each delete from disk sounds more safe. |

Even after a couple of weeks of sleeping on this one, I still feel it would be better to have two delete options in the context menu when right-clicking on a clip. 1. "Delete from list" 2. "Delete from storage" with the second one having a confirm dialog with an appropriate warning. The reason is that it just makes sense to be able to delete a clip after just having watched it to be certain that it does not contain anything good, rather than batch-delete clips in the cleanup which you might want to use in a different project. |
