0002435: kdenlive crashes on open or new

Description

Previous version (0.8.?) on Opensuse 11.3 (Linux 2.6.34.8-0.2) worked fine. Upgraded mlt, libmlt, libmlt++3 to 0.7.6-1.3, libqt4 to 4.6.3-2.5.1, kdenlive to 0.8.2-2.2 (from Packman) and have not managed to avoid crash on startup since.

Steps To Reproduce

Start kdenlive, then try new or open or add clip buttons to cause crash.

Note: when starting from xterm, get the message:
