|Summary||0002455: imported clips from Canon HG20 (.MTS) no longer work with ffmpeg 0.9 and later|
since I have updated ffmpeg to version 0.9 I can no longer work with my camcorder files in kdenlive.
seeking in files shows white image in clip monitor and rendered clips show black image for some sequences.
I have the same issue with the vlc player and my MTS files. It doesn't show any image at all. Installing ffmpeg 0.8.7 and everything was fine again.
So I issued a bug report on ffmpeg:
But it seems that replaying black frames is a feature and the application needs different handling for ffmpeg 0.9 in order to precisely replay specified frames.
|Steps To Reproduce||- install ffmpeg 0.9|
- import this clip http://www.tvk.rwth-aachen.de/~stef/00017.MTS [^]
- jump to second 12 and play in clip monitor (there's only white image)
- import clip in time line, crop beginning 12 seconds and render the scene. You will get a video only showing black image
I have also videos like 3 minutes long where rendering from 1m00 - 2m00 fails. So it's not relates to the short video or this special video.

fixed in todays git-master for upcoming ffmpeg release 0.9.1
vlc is working again but kdenlive crashes opening project after a lot of thread lock missing in avcodec warning messages.
Let's wait for the final ffmpeg 0.9.1 release.
