Summary0000257: Project Monitor resize 100% does not work with custom size projects
DescriptionI have a project which is 832x604. When I make the Project Monitor a separate window and click resize 100%, the window geometry becomes 612x691 (according to xwininfo). This includes the borders and timeline/icons at the bottom, so clearly it's not big enough to show the project at 1:1.

 Also (and more importantly), the aspect ratio of the preview in the Project Monitor window when it is docked is incorrect. Maybe this is related? I am currently working with a 1192x826 project and it is particularly noticeable.

 Its because your display aspect ratio (DAR) needs to reflect the resolution. (I told you otherwise on IRC - my apologies, I was wrong).

You should enter 832 and 604 as the DAR num and denum.

Incidently, you can not enter that currently, as the input fields are limited to 99. I have a patch for that, waiting for an OK from JB to commit.

 Setting the DAR correctly, btw, will also fix the extract frame issue...

 Ah! Please can you explain the point of allowing the DAR to be independent from the project resolution? When would you ever want them to have different ratios?

 I am not really sure that I can, by I read an explanation by Dan Dennedy recently that went into great lenght in explaining some of the details. Unfortunately, I can not find it. :-(

I did find http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pixel_aspect_ratio#Confusion_with_Picture_Aspect_Ratio [^]
which suggests that you can calculate one from the other, if you use a table of sorts. Given that mlt could not use a table for your resolution, I reckon it makes sense to ask for both settings.

And, while we are at it, the wiki really needs this information - I hope to get around to it, but the bugs just keep coming :-)
