|0002649||Kdenlive||User Interface||public||2012-06-16 07:41||2012-06-20 18:14|
|Product Version||Recent git|
|Target Version||Fixed in Version|
|Summary||0002649: Opening a clip crashes kdenlive with ffmpeg 0.11.1 installed.|
|Description||Up until recently I have had ffmpeg 0.7.11 installed, and was able to open these clips. Now, there is at least one that is crashing kdenlive hard. Strange thing is that it is not every clip that causes this behavior. Also, the clip is 60mb bug, so it's a little too heavy for me to send. |
|Steps To Reproduce||Open kdenlive, add a specific AVCHD.mts clip. |
|Additional Information||This clip was produced by Panasonic TM900. Full HD, 50fps|
I will downgrade ffmpeg on my computer, and see if I can reproduce this.
Which version of ffmpeg are you guys running?
I have attached a backtrace... any insight into what it means would be helpful.

I have been doing some testing.
Kdenlive does not segfault with ffmpeg 0.8.12, but does segfault with ffmpeg 0.9.2
Also, I am beginning to suspect that the fault is in MLT.
The distro I am using (Sorcerer) detects if and ELF requirement is not met when changing a source version, and automatically rebuilds affected programs.
Between versions 0.11.1 and 0.10.4 there was an ELF break with MLT, but not between versions 0.10.4 and 0.8.12. It merely told me that all my clips were invalid until I re-compiled MLT.
There was no ELF break between 0.8.12 and 0.9.2, but with 0.9.2 Kdenlive started segfaulting on loading this clip.
The clip's size is 60mb, which, if I remember correctly, is outside the limits set for the upload of clips at kdenlive.
Any ideas of where to look next? Can I have special permission to upload this clip to see if you guys get the same segfault?
I got a hold of Dan Dennedy on email, and we sorted this segfault. It was down to my mlt not updating with git.
Please close this bug!
