| Summary | 0002673: add file types to list of "supported files" that appears on the add clip dialog | ||||||||||||
| Description | There are many file types that kdenlive does actually support but which do not actually appear to be supported because they don't appear when "all supported files" is selected in the file filter in the add clip dialog. You can only tell they are supported when you try and open them and find that they appear as video or as audio. We could survey people here to see what file types they know are supported but are filtered out. I can start with .m2v files (MPEG-2 video) as extracted from .rec topfield PVRs by a program called ProjectX .ac3 - audio files ATSC A/52A also extracted from .rec files Perhaps .MOD files Panasonic digital video cameras (http://www.kdenlive.org/forum/adding-supported-filetypes [^] ) is still also a problem. I am sure there are other file types too. I don't think kdenlive should hide the fact that it supports these other file types !! | ||||||||||||

I added the ac3 and m2v mimetypes to Kdenlive. .m2v and .mod will only be supported after launching the Kdenlive Wizard (from the settings menu - it also starts automatically when upgrading to a new Kdenlive version). |
