| Summary | 0002855: Rounded thumbnail corners on timeline make it harder to see connected and off-by-one disconnected clips | ||||||||||||
| Description | Recently timeline thumbnails got rounded corners. They look nice but make it harder to see if clips on timeline are connected or if they are off by one (depending on zoom level). With most of my editing projects I've had off-by-one gaps in timeline and now reviewing the timeline for these is harder with the rounded corners. I assume these were implemented in commit 57fe61218c3ecab2c5c18bc8e81b55823691540b but reverting brings up conflicts which I was not directly able to resolve. Please consider having hard edged rectangles on the timeline. | ||||||||||||

Agree. @j-b-m: can we go back to the old style? |

I like the rounded corners. However, I do also agree that it makes quickly spotting disconnected clips more difficult. May I suggest a non-rounded corner when clips are connected, and rounded corners everywhere else? This will definitely involve more code, as clips now have to check if they are connected, but will make everybody happy, as it will be pretty and even more easy to spot disconnected clips, as the corners will be rounded. |

I just slightly updated the clip frame, keeping it rounded but with a slight tweak. From my tests, it now has the same precision as rectangular frames, one frame offsets can clearely be seen when zoom >= 8. Can you please test & let me know if it's ok for you? |

I can't see the difference in git version 91ea03539f103ae33036c70b2a054c763e61f0e0. The gap between clips at any zoom level makes it harder to spot off by ones in time line. |
