How about adding a lock clip as well? I never saw that in other NLEs, could be useful.

Testing this new feature : OK. Works as expected, track is locked and unlocked. no surrounding problem detected.

there are problems with (gosh) groups:
1. group two clips (one on track 0 and one on track 1)
2. lock track 0
3. move track 1

both the tracks will move, then they'll ungroup and the one in track 0 will be unselected
now: should i be able to move a group if one of its clips is locked? i guess not...

i can fix this jb, but i'd like you to answer the above question (there's only one thing to fix here, and it depends on the behaviour we choose)

Yes, there are probably some other issues with track locking because I didn't test it a lot and was also not sure how to handle some situations... Currenly you can also drop a new clip on a locked track, which I am not sure we want to allow...

Regarding the operation of grouped clips that have one of their items on a locked track, I guess we should prevent moving and deleting...

I agree that you should not be able to move groups with clips on locked tracks.

I'd also disallow to drop clips on locked tracks. Simple reason: What you do in 90 % of all cases is moving the inserted clip to the correct position. But moving is locked. So inserting should be locked as well.
