I did a clean install of a Kubuntu 12.04 system and using sunab's svn repository (version 0.9.3+git20121227) it works fine for me, I cannot reproduce your problem. Can you first make sure that you don't have an older MLT package still installed, and let me know if the freeze only happens with some clip types, in which case you could maybe attach here or mail me a short sample - jb at kdenlive org. |

melt is version: 0.8.7+git20121227 The problem seems to be with proxy clips of 1920x1080 .mov files from a canon dslr The original clip (non proxy) loads onto the time-line Ok. Other clips that I have tried that work Ok are avi from a mini-dv camera, mp4 proxy clip and jpeg, I will try to email a proxy clip that causes the problem |

The proxy clip you sent me works fine for me. Do you get the crash when just adding it to a new project and dragging to timeline? A backtrace could help me there. Install the kdenlive-dbg package, then from a terminal: gdb kdenlive Then, type: run Crash Kdenlive, then type: thread apply all bt Press enter until all debug info is printed to the terminal and paste it here. Are you using a special repository for libav or the official Ubuntu version? |

I started a new project and the proxy clip worked fine as well. I added more clips and that also seems to be working at the moment. I then reloaded the original project and that then crashed as before. I am using the standard libav that comes with 12.04 I have attached the project file and here is a back trace. not much info in the backtrace... Did you type: thread apply all bt and press enter until all debug info is printed? Looks like you didn't... |

Looks like a duplicate of issue 0002911 that crashed because of a bug in the audio thumbnails code. Disabling the audio thumbnails should solve the crash, updating to a Kdenlive version >= 30 december should get you the real fix. |
