|Description||video clips on my Sanyo Xacti CG20 run smoothly but when I capture them onto Kdenlive they are jerky.|

Your bug report is quite light on details.
What sort of computer do you have?
Here we are interested in RAM, CPU type and speed, etc.
Since the Xacti is a full HD camera, it needs a fairly powerful computer to play back & edit the footage. One thing you might try is to enable proxy clips in your project settings. It will take longer to load the video clips, but editing should be more smooth.
Specs attached in "specs.txt" file - the laptop is a few years old, but perfectly capable of general video playback.
Could the problem be related to codecs? What codecs are recommended for this camera? (I'm on Ubuntu 10.10, Maverick)
