|Summary||0003013: Memory leak when editing|
|Description||I have seen mentions of memory leaks when rendering, but for me, Kdenlive leaks memory when using the interface for editing. As far as I can tell, memory leaks are not a problem when rendering, but it may be that I haven't noticed.|
|Steps To Reproduce||1. I close absolutely every single program, and also run the following command from the command line to ensure that there is nothing in memory:|
sudo sh -c "sync; echo 3 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches"
2. Start Kdenlive, open a project, and begin editing by adding and removing clips, adding and changing effects, and anything else that is normal for editing a video. It does not matter what I do. All activity leads to the memory being used up.
3. After anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour of use, my memory usage is maxed out. I have a memory monitor in my Gnome panel that shows me the amount of swap and memory being used. After about an hour, the memory is at 100% and Kdenlive starts responding slowly to the point where it is unusuable.
