DescriptionI think this is a minor issue, but official releases need an icon after installation. After installing, there is no icon. See attached screenshot.

 the .desktop file should use the exact path to the icon -
theme=/path/to/icon

 Acknowledged. Seems these files are missing from the KDE4 branch:

It probably takes some cmake magic to get it to work - waiting for jb to fix ...

kdenlive.desktop file just has give the whole path to the KDE4 icon, because in gnome it looks in the gnome icon directories, not the KDenlive one where the icons reside.

 hotchkikr: unless I am mistaken (which might very well be the case, given my record :-), the kdenlive.png icon file is not installed at all in the KDE4 branch?

 oh, my bad. I just meant the .desktop wasn't setup to work w/ gnome.. I didn't get why you needed cmake to edit that file?

 Hehe. I think we are talking past eachother still.

The desktop file will probably need to be edited. But, it seems that the kdenlive.png file is not installed at all - and this must be fixed in the cmake files.

Again: I might be wrong.
