Summary0003114: Improve countdown generator
DescriptionRight now applying the speed effect to the countdown videos makes the countdown clip shrink so that only one line is visible instead of the usual clip length.

It would be nice if one could define:

- location
- font (name and size)
- speed
- initial number
- final number
Steps To ReproduceProject -> Generators -> Countdown
Inset the clip in the a track
Apply effect "speed"
Change the speed to any value other than the default
Note that the clip has shrank

It would be great to improve it in the way Ghomem pointed out. Now I am stuck with the impossibility of changing the duration of the countdown but not chaning the number of "seconds".

I won't be working on new features for a rather long time (focusing on bugfix/refactoring); this could be a gift to newcomers/students…
As a workaround you can render a plain coundown, then import the clip and crop/apply speed effects etc? Or use an external animation editor (for very simple things editing SVG by hand can be feasible; synfig or Blender could also help…)

As a workaround I have generated the countdown in kdenlive with proper number of seconds and afterwards I edited the generated file in text editor (It is actually an XML file) and changed the out="[number]" value of every second to my needs.

In my case it was a countdown from 500 down to zero. The generated exiting frame was set to out="125". I have changed it to "6". The result was 4m20s countdown from 500 to 0 (obviously the length depends on your framerate)

Furhtermore, while I needed to have countdown from 500 € down to 0 €, I edited the text in the xml according to my needs. It is quite easy to understand the file. Probably much easier than setting up GUI for its capability.

Hopefully this will help somebody.
