|0003213||Kdenlive||User Interface||public||2014-02-02 17:01||2014-06-15 18:04|
|Target Version||Fixed in Version|
|Summary||0003213: When loading project, project monitor does not update initially|
|Description||System: Kdenlive 0.9.7+git20140117.5359c90f-0ubuntu0~sunab~saucy1 on Kubuntu 13.10.|
After loading a project Kdenlive does not update the project monitor. Please see the attached screenshot. The project monitor thus does not reflect the position of the play head in the timeline view. Users need to explicitly reposition the playhead to make Kdenlive update the project monitor.
|Steps To Reproduce||1. Start Kdenlive without any command line parameters.|
2. File, Open project
3. After Kdenlive has finished loading the project, the project monitor stays black (or whatever background color has been set).
4. Reposition play head in timeline in order to make the project monitor update.

|I've noticed that Kdenlive in fact does not update the project monitor to the extend that no redraw happens ... until the user repositions the playhead. Until the user does so, old screen content will leak through the project monitor; for instance, first minimize Kdenlive, then maximize its program window again. You'll then see old screen content, as can be seen in the second screenshot I've attached to this bug report.|
In Settings/Configure Kdenlive/Playback, is OpenGL checked? or is Video driver auto?
On my side everything is ok in either case...
|Video driver is auto.|
|Problem still persists, even with new nightlies. There is aimply no update of the clip and project windows. Graphics card is AMD HD 7870.|
|I can't reproduce this in 0.9.8. My system draws the clip monitor as the active tab when the project opens. And it paints the current frame that is selected in the clip monitor of the project|
|Kdenlive 0.9.8 seems to be okay now. On initial loading, the clip and project monitors are painted black, so no more old screen content bleeding through. If no clip is selected, then both monitors stay black; as soon as I select a clip in the project or in the time line, the corresponding monitor correctly shows the clip. So we can marked this bug as solved and close it.|
