Would also be useful to know if this wishlist item refers to playing fullscreen on *the same screen* as Kdenlive, or if you're talking about the ability to play on *a second screen* as 0.6 was able to do.

cinephiliac: Both, preferably.

I've noticed that you can detach KDN's sub-windows as separate windows- this of course applies to the clip and project monitors. Hence, if I wanted a full screen project monitor on my second display I would detach the project monitor, drag it onto my second desktop then I could either double-click in it or right-click and choose "View Full Screen". Same should apply to the clip monitor.

The SDL consumer has a fullscreen property that you can set. Might need some work to cleanly implement getting out of fullscreen :-)

Hi kdenlive devs!

Has any progress been made on supporting full screen previews? Is there any chance we might see this in 0.7.3? I see it was meant to be in 0.7.2 but got dropped.

I'm very excited about kdenlive but I'd feel uncomfortable using it properly or recommending it to others until I can do full screen previews of clips and projects.

I think that this feature is very important. If Kdenlive had the feature for fullscreen preview, we can do scheduled programs playback, that's very interesting. not only non-linear video editing.

You can do fullscreen, scheduled playback using MLT, preferably with SDI output. That is what MLT was designed for, and it directly reads the .kdenlive project file.
