Summary0003305: Adding effect (Scale; Rotate) and using them leads Kdenlive to crash
DescriptionOpened kdenlive and put a .xcf pic into the timeline. I then added the Scale and Rotate effects and began to use them. Immediately after i tried to use the scale effect kdenlive crashes. I thought it might has to do with my grafic settings but i don´t think so. I have a nvidia optimus system and bumblebee installed. I used:
primusrun kdenlive
optirun kdenlive
kdenlive

But the crash occured in each variant. So i don´t think, that it has something to do with grafics.
Steps To Reproduce1.Open kdenlive
2. Add a .xcf pic
3. Add effects: rotate and scale
4. Tried to scale the pic
5. Crash

Do mean the Rotate and Shear effect
or the
Crop Scale and Position effect.

I tried both of these on ver 0.9.8 and a .xcf file and they did not crash the system.

You should try in ver 0.9.8 because with this out now devs are unlikely to fix 0.9.6 defects

I also tried it in the new version and still the crash occurs … interestingly if a just use one effect it works for this effect but it crashes when i start working with the second effect. I.e.: I resized the .xcf with the crop, scale and position effect and it worked fine. Then i added the rotate (keyframable) and kdelive crashed immediately. Seems that it has todo with using more effects on one pic …

I can't reproduce on my 0.9.8 version. I tried what you did - resize with crop, scale and position and rotate with rotate (keyframable) and it is working for me.

I am on ubuntu 14.04 64 bit. I am using ffmpeg instead of avconv. I dunno if that would make a difference.

I have a ffmpeg 7:2.2.1+git~trusty1.9 from http://ppa.launchpad.net/mc3man/trusty-media/ubuntu [^] installed to
/opt/ffmpeg/bin and symlinked to /usr/bin/ffmpeg
and this is what kdenlive is using.

What happens with other file types (not .xcf )?

Seeing the "Render::checkMaxThreads" line make me to think that you had enabled the multithreading rendering option, which has always caused problems and is now disabled. Try to change the setting in 0.9.6 (or upgrade to latest dev builds)

Unable to reproduce, assuming it was fixed since old version (kdenlive or libav)
