0000633: Improve Color grading

Description

Feature request: I never, ever, release my Creative Commons or rock music videos without having color grade them.

I need multiple color plugins, pretty much the whole range of the Sony Vegas plugins are needed -- because are the most basic ones --, plus what the freeware Aav6cc Vegas plugin is able to do (isolates colors and intensifies them or makes them duller).

Using only what fre0r wants to develop in his free time is useless, because he creates useless plugins for the most part. He creates whatever looks "cool", not whatever is needed for basic, but serious, video editing. So when you create effects, please don't create visual effects, the color effects are the most important ones.

My feature request is about 20+ visual plugins, pretty much everything that exists on Sony Vegas and then some, not just about color balance and saturation. For color correcting, indeed you don't need more than 2-3 plugins, but for color grading, you need a slew of them. Grading is not the same as correcting.

Kdenlive now has a lot of quite usable and powerful tools, but there's still room for improvement. Actually the request as formulated here doesn't mean much (what plugins does Vegas have that would be needed ?). I would say that the most usefull would be a good three-way color correction (like what Blender picked up recently : http://www.francois-tarlier.com/blog/index.php/2010/03/color-grading-with-blender-2-5/ [^] ) and improving the "levels" effects.

(0005547) ttill (developer) 2010-08-11 14:36	granjow just added the ASC CDL (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_Decision_List [^]) to frei0r. We are moving into the right direction. But for proper grading we also need proper masking and tracking for applying such effects only to regions of the clip.
