Hello,

I hope that this is not the most stupid bug report of the year. To explain, I use a Freebox HD recorder to record documentaries on French TV in Mpeg2-ts. Then I cut the films using Kdenlive and store them for analysis.

Freebox is a TV viewer brought by the French ISP Free.fr.

Whatever opions in Kdenlive, the films after export to various profiles will not read on Freebox HD recorder. The film can always be viewed in totem. The freebox has a GNU/Linux firmware, so until now I thought this was a software problem in the Freebox.

But I realize that I can use avidemux to export valid files.

The problem is that in 100% cases, the Freebox will accept avidemux files, and reject Kdenlive files. So this may be a bug in audio export, but I cannot give any precise information.

When viewing the file, I can here x microseconds of audio, then it is scratched and I hear no sound. Just like if a buffer was too low or too high.

This issue happens for mp3, ac3 and libaac sound exports in AVI, MP4 and MTS. I could export test files using avidemux and they all worked.

(0003224) ddennedy (developer) 2009-06-16 08:00	Please provide details of a format from avidemux that works using ffmpeg -i. I could a TS export giving a problem as ffmpeg's ts muxer is not great, and there is a lot of ts parameters and room for interop errors. However, ffmpeg's AVI and MOV muxer are quite good and should give good interoperability. Could it be that freebox does not accept the MLT default sample rate of 48000?

Then I export to various formats using Kdenlive and Avidemux and publish them for analysis. Bye and thanks for your interest! I had this problem for months but was quite ashamed to ask this question, as this bug is hard to reproduce.
