Preparing the Live USB mass-storage
If your USB memory stick doesn't appear in the selection box, you may need to redirect the USB stick's drive letter (whether it is E: or G: etc) to B: as follows -
* Start up a DOS command window. In Windows Vista : press the Windows button and type cmd into the search box and then press the return key. In XP and older versions of Windows, press the Windows Start button, select Run... and type cmd in the 'Open:' box, then click OK.
* Now that you have a window that looks like an old DOS PC with a C:\> prompt (or possibly some other folder displayed) type in the following to make Drive B: functionally the same as your USB drive - in this example the USB drive is E: :-
subst b: e:\
Don't forget to press return/enter to confirm the command. This tells the operating system to SUBSTitute a previously unused B: for the root folder of the E: drive USB stick. If successful, you should find that B: and E: are the same USB drive in My Computer. The RawWrite program may now list B: in addition to A: and this will allow you to write to the USB stick.
