Updating from 0.7.4 to 0.7.5
IMPORTANT!
If you updating from Kdenlive 0.7.4 to 0.7.5 you MUST erase ~/.kde/share/config/kdenliverc file because of wrong MLT binary name in it!
Re: Updating from 0.7.4 to 0.7.5
This is an extremely assignment | assignments | assignment writing interesting idea. The best thing would be to add a plugin infrastructure to Kdenlive. Plugins would be scripts that take a few arguments and create a westley clip that is then added to the current Kdenlive project.

Re: Updating from 0.7.4 to 0.7.5
I took the update (kdenlive 0.7.5) normally by the Fedora 11 x86_64 RPM , but ..... there is a fatal error because of the MLT. I removed this file you say , but the problem remains. I tried to run the kdenlive application after I login as the "root" and it run ! I login again as a single user and the problem is always here. Any help ? (I also tried to remove the mlt and the old kdenlive 0.7.4 and after this I installed again the kdenlive 0.7.5-1 version , but ..... the problem remains the same.)
Re: Updating from 0.7.4 to 0.7.5
This must working! Because Kdenlive in that file store the old name of MLT's binary.
Re: Fedora packages
I did this install and still only get .0.7.4 version, which is not what I need since the force aspect ratio does not work in this version. How do I get .0.7.5?
Re: Fedora packages - unmatained?
Kdenlive and MLT seem to be unmantained on RPMFusion (Fedora 11).
There's still (and only) kdenlive 0.7.4
See this bug for details:

Re: Fedora packages - unmatained?
That software is provided as precompiled RPMs for all current Fedora versions and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5; you can use the RPM Fusion repositories with tools like yum and PackageKit.

Re: Fedora packages - unmatained?
Sorry on waiting so long...
I just continue maintaining, and new packages of Kdenlive 0.75 and MLT 0.4.4 are finished at my local machine. I'll commit them to RPMFusion under a couple of days.
regards,
Zarko (Fedora's Kdenlive & MLT maintainer)

Re: Fedora packages
I setup my own Fedora repository for Kdenlive, MLT
This is first step in my intention to put Kdenlive and MLT to RPM Fusion repo. Until that, please use this.
How to setup:
Fedora 10
First of all users must have installed RPM Fusion repository:
su -c 'rpm -Uvh http://download1.rpmfusion. org/free/fedora/rpmfusion- free-release-stable.noarch.rpmhttp://download1.rpmfusion. org/nonfree/fedora/rpmfusion- nonfree-release-stable.noarch. rpm'
then type this:
su -c 'rpm -ivh http://wiki.open.hr/~zpintar/fedora10/zpintar-repo-1.0-1.fc10.noarch.rpm'
su -c 'yum install kdenlive'
It contains the latest stable versions of Kdenlive and MLT programs.
Fedora 11
Kdenlive is now a part of RPM Fusion repo
For installing Kdenlive from RPM Fusion repo you MUST deinstall (remove) old MLT, MLT++ and Kdenlive from your Fedora instalation!
su -c 'yum remove mlt*'
Install rawhide rpm-fusion:
su -c 'rpm -Uvh http://download1.rpmfusion.org/free/fedora/rpmfusion-free-release-rawhid... http://download1.rpmfusion.org/nonfree/fedora/rpmfusion-nonfree-release-rawhide.noarch.rpm'
Install Kdenlive:
su -c 'yum install kdenlive'
Re: Fedora packages
thank you!
but, to avoid 404 error:
su -c 'rpm -ivh http://wiki.open.hr/~zpintar/fedora10/repo-rpm/zpintar-repo-1.0-1.fc10.noarch.rpm'
Re: Fedora packages
Thanks, that works for me!

Re: Fedora packages
to avoid yet another error, try
su -c 'rpm -Uvh http://download1.rpmfusion.org/free/fedora/rpmfusion-free-release-stable... http://download1.rpmfusion.org/nonfree/fedora/rpmfusion-nonfree-release-stable.noarch.rpm'
this works for fedora 10, 11, or 12 I got the instructions and link from http://rpmfusion.org/Configuration/
I followed all the instructions in this thread (thank you everyone) and then still had to run the following
rm ~/.kde/share/config/kdenliverc
this stopped the fatal error i was getting in regard to no command line for mlt
