-current support has been dropped
-There are now 64-bit packages as well as 32-bit; choose your preference

Update: New packages available as per 18-03-2010: Kdenlive 0.7.7.1 and MLT 0.5.2

Recommended versions:

  • MLT 0.5.2
  • Kdenlive 0.7.7.1
  • Optionally: frei0r R20100316

To install:

  • download the packages from here: http://www.mlange.dds.nl/
  • Follow the instructions I put on the download location and you should be fine

You should now be able to run kdenlive, if you encounter problems: try to install Alien Bob's packages for faad2, faac, ffmpeg and yasm.
On my site I placed a slightly altered build for ffmpeg; Just downloading and running the script should get you your package eventually. (I had to change a few things slightly to get the package I needed for kdenlive)

Alien Bob has his site here: http://www.slackware.com/~alien

Suggestions, questions, bugs, errors, etc.: please keep me posted and I will see what I can do to fix them.

I found a new place to upload new packags, still many thanks to Alabandit to get me started on this by providing the initial bandwidth.

Re: Slackware packages

Thanks for the uplifting comment ;-) I plan to stay pretty much current, as much as time allows me to create packages. The process is fairly time-consuming, so when there's a new Kdenlive version out, I will create a whole new set of packages. However, this may take a while as along with kdenlive I have to create packages for MLT, frei0r and ffmpeg, digesting through all the errors I get out of the compile process.
