Looks like the new binary for Windows has been forgotten
Our Windows release manager is on a small break, will be back soon. 😉
It is online now!
Great!
Why can’t we subscribe to this for updates?
There is an RSS feed: https://kdenlive.org/en/rss
I have nothing to say!
Fixing issues is needed. Excellent!
When changing the render file location and name and selecting save, the name does not change. Same problem as before.
Fixed, should be in next version next month.

Just to say… thank you very much for the good work…. keep going with this fantastic video editor….
I think the next step should be some nice transitions …. transitions its the only think that i think should be implemented.
Cheers
+1
Ive only known Kdenlive for a few weeks but Im already using it to edit a short video, and Im amased at how great it is and the incredible features it has. Thank you very much for this.
Yesterday I rendered several clips.
First of all, I need to say that it does not crashes.
When I was working with 4k and 2.7k clips I found that first 3-5 seconds of playing clip is shown in monitor as zoomed park of original clip. Looks like it is proxy glitch, but I can not preview 4k without proxy.
some new feature/bug when I am trying to adjust clips end, on mouse clip on clip edge it jumps away from original position.
Using Kdenlive on Linux. Recently used it for an 18 minute video with lots of composition and some color correction with keyframes. Works beautifully! Even though it’s fast enough on my CPU (just showing some really mild ‘strobe’ in playback on clips with multiple filters) it would be nice if GPU enabled playback would be less ‘crashy’.
But mostly: keep up the good work on this rockin’ video editor! Thanks!
The next big release will feature preview scaling in the monitor that’ll allow you to display a lower resolution of your clips. You’ll be able to add as many effects and compositions as you like without a GPU and everything will be smooth. You can test this in the daily AppImage builds. 🙂
That is very promising indeed! I took the nightly build for a spin and the performance is indeed very fast when using a lower resolution for display.
Any news regarding this issue, is it possible to find out about it is planed to be fixed
https://invent.kde.org/kde/kdenlive/issues/517
There is an issue happening due to the locale setting comma/point. In the comments there is a workaround, hopefully the devs manage to find a definitive fix soon.
Oh, now I finally understand, change
‘kdenlive:docproperties.decimalPoint”>,’ to
‘kdenlive:docproperties.decimalPoint”>.’ in my old project file and it looks like it works. Many thanks for the clarification.
Thanks a lot for all your effort!
I have one issue though, which makes it very difficult for me to continue using kdenlive:
It is about template titles, which I use A LOT.
Whenever I save a project and reopen it, the duration of the template titles is set back to the default. This means I can not have template titles with unique durations.
After the last update ( I just updated from 19.08.x to this one, 19.12.02.), the issue has become even worse. Before, the template titles would default back to 5 seconds after save&reopen (5 secs being the default title duration for kdenlive), but now they default to the duration I have saved each template title with, which for most of them is 6 frames (I use animated text that slides in from outside the screen).
Is this an issue only I have? Without it being fixed, I’m afraid I’ll have to move away from kdenlive (but I don’t want to!!)
I’m on Ubuntu (Xubuntu) 18.04.3 and I’m using the AppImage of kdenlive.
Thank you very much, I hope my issue can be resolved soon!
Hi, thanks for the feedback, I have reported this to the devs but for future reference please note that the correct channel for reporting bugs are either the KDE bug tracker or invent.kde.org.
It should be fixed in the coming release.
Thanks, Farid! Sorry for posting in the wrong channel and thanks for giving me the name of the right one!
Fixed: https://invent.kde.org/kde/kdenlive/commit/dffcd79608273aa9e9400f6ec7146a2cd4e6bd83
I’m sorry I don’t understand much about commits. But I guess I’ll be looking forward to seeing the bug fixed in the next release. Thanks to you guys!
Hi, great job guys there only one thing, I’ve got a Gforce Nvidia 1660 Ti that is not recognized by Kdenlive so the preview render lags so much ! could you do something about it please.
thx in for your beautiful work
windows 10 / RIZEN 7/ GForce GTX 1660 Ti
Pre-rendering and final rendering with GPU acceleration is not implemented due to stability reason. It’s on the to do list. With the upcoming 20.04 release timeline preview/playback is much quicker and uses the GPU on windows.
You cannot change the speed by typing numbers …you just have to stay and press the up or down arrows…this is time consuming, other wise everything works.
I assume you work on Windows. This is fixed in the meantime. Let’s see if we can have it in 19.12.3. Workaround: right click in one of the number field (like the value for Position). This will bring up a context menu. Close the menu and after that you can edit the numbers normally with the keyboard.
my project bin isn’t there and wont show up. I tried the other way of going into project the clicking the and clip thing and the file I want isn’t there. i did a google search and had no luck. if anyone know the solution to this problem please tell me
Goto view -> enable/click on project bin.
thanks
Awesome course of expression. Look after it up!
Hi which version should I use. I can see some versions of the appimage have a c or b appended. For instance: kdenlive-19.12.2c-x86_64
What is the difference between kdenlive-19.12.2c-x86_64.appimage and kdenlive-19.12.2-x86_64.appimage ?
The a, b, c letter mean that the AppImage version was updated with some fixes. So in this case use the c AppImage.
I just recently got 19.12.2 installed on my workstation here at work (I have to use Windows 10 at work; at home I use Ubuntu Studio).
I have a BIIIIIIIG problem:
No matter the video involved, it will not properly render the project, starting, then immediately finishing, while leaving a 0 byte file behind.
