What a pity: windows version won’t be released!
Just for this version. Next month there will be a new nifty release though.
?
Wow, I felt bad when I read that the windows version would not be released. As a windows and KDENLIVE user I felt slighted. But if Microsoft itself is despising users, killing them, let alone the others.
I share your pain, but are you on Windows Daily Build #800? If not, why not? :O)
I see the next Cafe is July 13 at 9:00-11:00. Is that time my location’s time or yours? Keep up the good work and thanks.
UTC+2, its been made explicit now. Thanks for asking. 🙂
I am a kdenline fan. I use windows version. Dont forget us.
Tanks
Windows is not forgotten. We have problems to build the 21.04.3 Windows version. Let’s see if we can solve it.

As stated many times, the reason for release is a technical issue and next month we hope to have a brand new Windows version.
Waiting for next windows build!
You should try it on Linux, on Plasma desktop, it’s “fatherland” environment, even if you only used Linux for video editing. 😉
Is it planned to add multithread support for AV1 encoding? I tried to encode a PAL DVD video and I got little more than 1 fps on a 8 cores, 16 threads Ryzen 7. System Monitor showed that only one thread was being used.
AV1 is the best codec nowadays but is very slow. Not talking advantage of all the CPU’s power is absurd: remember, barely 1,2 fps for a 720×576 px. video; that’s around 24 hours encoding for a damn hour 25 fps video. Go figure for a FHD -let’s not say UHD- clip!! O_O
I think multithreading is mandatory for every encode but especially for AV1 if one does not want to despair :-s.
Also improving stability would be nice. Kdenlive crashes from time to time. It usually can recover the unsaved work, but it should be more stable.
Thanks for your work. Apart from what I’ve said, Kdenlive is a great video editor for non too ambitious projects, and it’s improving version after version. Great job, guys. 😀
Hey just wondering if you guys had plans on changing the way we speed up and slow down clips. To be honest I was hoping you would integrate an effect with a curve graph so we could speed up gradually and slow down gradually
Thanks
Speed ramping (Time Remapping) is currently in progress in Daily builds. On the other hand, it’s still in heavy development but it looks promising. It should be on the next stable version next month.
