Great software! Here is a recommendation: please change the interface behavior when zooming into the timeline. The zoom should be based on the cursor position or header position. This makes zooming in and out easy. Also, snapping to beginning or end of items will make it more useful. These are features which are highly used on other platforms.
Some things I have noticed are odd. For example, rendering without multi-threading yields faster results. Also, I noticed that on my amd ryzen 7 radeon gpu machine, the cpu is only used 50% for mp4 format.
Either way, I enjoy using the software and I am sure a lot of these things are on your future builds!
Zooming. Point the mouse where the zoom center should be. Hold CTRL and scroll in/out with the Mouse-wheel.
Unfortunately, this is exactly what does not work. Only if you press Ctrl++ or Ctrl+-, then exactly the position where the cursor is located becomes visible when zooming. Unfortunately this does not work with Ctrl+middle mouse wheel.
I’ve just tried this and can confirm it (22.12.2 in Windows). Ctrl & mouse wheel seems to zoom in to the middle of the current timeline video, whereas Ctrl & + or – keys zoom in to the current cursor position (which is what I think Ctrl & mouse wheel should do).
I have serious problems with the V 22.12.2 on Windows. When I first opened some tracks I noticed, that the visual audio curves were out of sync with the video.
After quite some editing I opened the file again and all the Audio tracks were in much higher speed and not synced to the video any more.
Has anybody had the same trouble?
Difficult to reproduce. What type of clip? Clips from GoPro or similar?
Yep. The Ctrl-Scroll zoom on timeline has been jacked up forever. One of the main reasons I use a Contour Design Shuttle Pro. I would be pulling hair out if I had to rely on the mouse all the time. In case you don’t know yet, scrolling on the zoom bar in the bottom right corner does semi-sane things.
It’s definitely a Great Application & it’s getting better and better with every new release. But it also should have an in-app update feature, which will help everyone to update to the newer version without the need of uninstalling it & keeping all the existing settings intact. Hope I see this must needed & a very essential feature sooner in the upcoming releases. Thank You for a Wonderful Application!
I just install any new version over the old version (in Windows). Works fine and settings are retained.
Windows 11, 720p60, cant allocate memory, cant allocate output frame buffer, working directory isn’t working, fresh reinstall keeps the old settings sometimes. currently retrying
Delete the folder C:\Program Files\kdenlive. Then re-install Kdenlive. Once Kdenlive is started go to Help -> Reset Configuration. Try again.
Is there any update on when the horizontal image shifting bug I reported (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=461999) might be fixed? I think it’s a melt issue rather than Kdenlive from what I remember. I want to make a few more videos with stills, and it’s showing up quite markedly on the ones I’ve done recently. I might have to resort to doing them in DaVinci, but I much prefer working in Kdenlive, as I find I get things done get much quicker.
Could you add an adjustable hand held/camera shake effect at some point?
List of effects/compositions was empty(white blank) on linux mint cinnamon 21. Fixed by installing qml-module-org-kde-kcm (sudo apt install qml-module-org-kde-kcm) . It might be better to include qml-module-org-kde-kcm as a dependency.
