There is an HD capture device from Haugpauge called the HD-PVR. I have read that it can be captured from using cat /dev/videoX > foo.ts. I am curious if there is any way to be able to use Kdenlive to be able to capture from this external USB device? The device is here: http://www.hauppauge.com/site/products/data_hdpvr.html
Mythtv can currently use it as an input to capture HD tv over component cables. That info is here: http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Hauppauge_HD-PVR
Apparently driver support has been added to kernel 18.104.22.168 and above. Is this an easy thing to incorporate?
Next question if it's not, will I need to convert the video captured via the cat command to from whatever is in the .ts file to DNxHD first to be able to edit it easily in kdenlive?
Any responses are welcome.
