Installing the Builder Wizard on OpenSUSE 11.2

Hey y'all! Since I've installed OpenSUSE again I thought to update the old Kdenlive Builder Wizard howto again. I know it's getting outdated rapidly so I'm just posting the steps on this forum for the other KBW diehards :) This is tested on the KDE4 installation but I guess it also works for Gnome edition.

Open your terminal and follow me...

Step 1. Add Packman repository

Choose a mirror from this list ftp://packman.links2linux.de/pub/packman/MIRRORS

# sudo zypper ar http:// mirror /suse/11.2 Packman

Step 2. Install the dependencies & reload profile

# sudo zypper install kde3-kommander-runtime subversion git-core cmake SDL-devel libxml2-devel libsamplerate-devel libvorbis-devel libdv-devel libjack-devel libsoprano-devel ladspa dvgrab libmad-devel recordmydesktop x264 autoconf libtool automake libfaad-devel libfaac-devel libtheora-devel libmp3lame-devel gtk2-devel libkde4-devel dvdauthor yasm && source /etc/profile

Step 3. Get & compile x264

# cd ~ && mkdir src && cd src && git clone git://git.videolan.org/x264.git && cd x264 && ./configure && make && sudo make install

Step 4. Get the builder wizard!

# cd ~/src && mkdir kdenlive_builder_wizard && cd kdenlive_builder_wizard && wget http://www.kde-apps.org/CONTENT/content-files/85826-kdenlive_builder_wiz... && bzip2 -d 85826-kdenlive_builder_wizard.kmdr.bz2 && chmod +x 85826-kdenlive_builder_wizard.kmdr

(A reboot might be necessary after step 4)

Step 5. Add KBW to the menu
Right-click the SUSE-menu, open the menu editor and add 'New Item' where you want
The command to use is:
kmdr-executor ~/src/kdenlive_builder_wizard/85826-kdenlive_builder_wizard.kmdr

Step 6. Configure KBW
All functions should be available except sox support. I recommend the 'Append Date' function so you always have a working backup if for some reason the newest SVN version breaks. After installation go to the installed folder, open the bin folder therein and run kdenlive_start... welcome to 'bleeding-edge' Kdenlive!
