The first maintenance release of the 26.08 series is out with the usual batch of stability fixes and workflow improvements. Highlights include a big batch of fixes for crashes when changing Timeline Preview settings, deleting sequences, stopping audio recordings, and using ripple editing when the Project Monitor is hidden. Besides maintenance and debugging work, this year, my work on Kdenlive was mostly dedicated to refactoring the Kdenlive keyframes system to make it more powerful. This is part of a NGI Zero Commons grant via NLnet, see my last status report from february for some more context. Plus d'informations

We are happy to announce the summer release of Kdenlive 26.08. Continuing the efforts from the last version, the core team has been focusing mostly on stability - fixing bugs and crashes while also doing lot's under the hood improvements. Plus d'informations

The last maintenance release of the 26.04 series is out, bringing the usual batch of bug fixes and workflow and stability improvements. Highlights include fixes for crashes when undoing sequence creation and recording audio without an audio device, as well as improvements to Rectangular Alpha Mask and Rotoscoping effects. This release also continues the security hardening efforts of this cycle by preventing unwanted command execution on MLT versions below 7.40.

In 2025, the Kdenlive team continued grinding to push the project forward through steady development, collaboration, and community support. Over the past year we’ve found a nice balance between adding new features, bug fixing, polishing the user interface, and improving performance and workflow, with stability taking priority over feature creep. La version candidate 26.04 de Kdenlive est prête pour les tests. De nombreuses corrections de bugs et de nombreux ajustements du flux de travail devraient rendre vos sessions de montage plus agréables. Il convient également de noter que nous avons eu plusieurs nouvelles personnes contributrices pour aider notre petite équipe sur ce projet. La dernière version de maintenance de la série 25.12 est publiée avec le lot habituel de correctifs pour la stabilité et d'améliorations du flux de travail. Les points forts concernent de petites améliorations de l'interface, telles qu'un meilleur comportement des composants graphiques de panneaux, une gestion améliorée des raccourcis en mode « Plein écran », des éléments de menu de marqueur regroupés de manière logique et une nouvelle option pour désactiver les effets de la frise chronologique dans le menu en hamburger. Cette version apporte également des améliorations à la gestion des séquence multi-flux et au montage en ondulation, ainsi que la correction d'une petite fuite de mémoire dans le composant graphique de rendu et d'un plantage dans l'éditeur de courbes.
