compiling errors with build-script

installing kdenlive with the build-script today gives me an error as follows:

Self compiled version runs :-) but the vertigo effect is missing

Dear all,

since yesterday I'm able to compile kdenlive under opensuse 12.1. It took a while to get all pieces together, but in the end the buildscript runs and nearly everything is ok.

What I'm missing is the vertigo effect. Is there somewhere a switch to compile it in or did I miss to install a certain package?

Getting Around Terminal For Installation

Nothing seems to be working when I try to install kdenlive with Terminal. When I look at the INSTALL file in the 0.8 version of Kdenlive it states the following:

Kdenlive Installation Instrucions
To compile and install, go in the source directory and type:

mkdir build;cd build
cmake ..
(If you want to install in a different path, use instead:
cmake .. -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/install/path)

To install, become root:

sudo make install
(enter root password at prompt)

Once installed, you can start Kdenlive by typing "kdenlive".

Note that you should also install MLT to do anything useful with Kdenlive. See
the README file for details.

I've installed Xcode and Mac Ports to my computer but when I type cmake .. it replies "command not found" other commands I try will say "no such job".

Unknown CMake command "GETTEXT_PROCESS_PO_FILES" in Ubuntu 11.10

I get this error when running cmake:

CMake Error at po/ca/CMakeLists.txt:1 (GETTEXT_PROCESS_PO_FILES):
Unknown CMake command "GETTEXT_PROCESS_PO_FILES".

This is with the latest kdenlive source and Ubuntu 11.10. Another site recommended adding find_package(Gettext) to solve the same problem in another context, though I notice there is already include(FindGettext), but neither works. There is nothing defining GETTEXT_PROCESS_PO_FILES in my /usr/share/cmake-2.8/Modules/FindGettext.cmake.

Thank you,

Dependency oneliner for Fedora

For Fedora users the oneliner command to install all dependencies will not work because the packages are named differently.
For using the Build Script, here is my command to install all dependencies on a fresh f15 install:

sudo yum install qt-devel yasm-devel kdelibs-devel SDL-devel SDL_image-devel libxml2-devel recordmydesktop dvgrab libdv-devel libdc1394-devel x264 x264-devel x264-libs libtheora-devel xvidcore-devel libogg-devel libvorbis-devel dirac-devel lame-devel libquicktime-devel faac-devel faad2-devel gsm-devel opencore-amr-devel libsamplerate-devel jack-audio-connection-kit-devel sox sox-devel ladspa-devel ladspa-swh-plugins libmad-devel gdk-pixbuf2-devel pango-devel gtk2-devel qjson-devel

gdk-pixbuf will not be found by the Build Script resulting in an error while building. I resolved this Issue by symlinking the pixbuf include to the place where the Script will look for it after installing the dependencies. Although this may not be the best way, it works ;)

Kdenlive incorrectly play clips and timeline

Kdenlive, mlt, ffmpeg, libx264 & libvpx are build from sources on latest 32-bit Kubuntu and Xubuntu.

Clips are played on timeline ignoring in and out point. Playback starts from the point where it stops before.
Also when I start command melt aaa.xml with content

I see the whole clip directly from beginning to the end.

problem running build script

When trying to run the build script, I get the following error. Seems the location of libvpx.git has changed?

ERROR: Unable to git clone source for libvpx from git://
LOG: Process has finished. Reason: FAILURE Some kind of error occured: Unable to git clone source for libvpx from git://

Fedora 14 build from source failure

Well, I was sitting down and working on a video on Fedora 14 (rpmfusion repo) and noticed that composite effects and the "screen" for it are missing! So, I did some googleing and found that mlt had changed and that it was corrected in a syn build.

So, I have tried compiling from source and havent had a lot of luck. I dont want to install to a different path. So I just type in "cmake .." ??

Obviously I am missing alot of stuff to compile for fedora 14. Has anyone done this and can you share your build line with me????

I don't have Rotoscoping filter - 0.8.1

I've compiled myself KDENLive from sources, but I don't have rotoscoping, which I need. Also config wizard says that following modules are missing:

-title module

But I am 100% sure that I have first two installed (I am on openSuSE 11.3)

Both 0.0.4

Both 0.22.0

Please help me since I need this effect (for rest I don't care).
