Nice blog The DiveO. I found it some months ago and found some pretty good articles about my beloved kdenlive 😉

The 17.08.1b AppImage has all the updates of 17.08.2, it just needs a version bump. Just sayin in case you go get it before it gets updated.
Any idea on how I can get the appimage’s settings to stay once I close Kdenlive? Right now when I close the program and reopen it, any changes I’ve made to the program’s settings will revert back to the default settings.
It’s irritating.
I resolved kdenlive 17.08.2 after upgrade kubuntu 17.10
this release a big step to stability, crashed only once at 3 hours of work, but there is other problem. render finish with blank video, only sound plays. what can be wrong?
If you can provide a log of your bug and report the crash it will get fixed for sure. Basically if you report it, it’ll get fixed.
Hope this links help:

In the windows version this fixed the missing ‘kdenlivetitle’ and ‘qimage’ issue. I can make title clips again! Where do I donate? You guys rock. My linux laptop is old and slow so I am super stoked you have a windows version. Once I upgrade my linux laptop I will move back.
It’s sad the Ubuntu repositories are still on 17.04.3 🙁
While the Kdenlive stable ppa is at 17.04.3, Ubuntu itself has stable Kdenlive 17.08 available for at least Zesty and Artful (https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/artful/+package/kdenlive). From the past I’ve found that Ubuntu takes ages to update MLT as Ubuntu distro packagers seem to wait for MLT releases instead of closely tracking MLT fixes (looks like a lack of insight into MLT’s development and release cycles on Ubuntu’s side from my point of view, but then, what do I know).
For the time, the Kdenlive master ppa (https://launchpad.net/~kdenlive/+archive/ubuntu/kdenlive-master) might be an option, as it is quite stable from my own experience; more so, as the timeline refactoring is done on a dedicated branch, while the master branch only receives fixes at the moment. However, when deciding to go master, make sure you are aware of the ramifications: master can become unstable at any time, due to a fix backfiring, so don’t update master in a project hot phase. But then, this is probably true also for mamy other stable software.
Thanks for the details, I will give it a try.
