there are not updated links to download like now
Do you work on a windowsversion for 17.08.3. There is still the 17.08.1 version on the server and i can not render on my windowssystem with this version.
In the mean time, you can try using the 17.08.2 version (also not published for windows for some reason)

Unfortunately the windows version, since still in beta, comes out whenever possible. Hopefully this will change once it becomes stable. We need a windows release maintainer. 😉
Why do you announce a release which is not available yet?
Thanks.
The packages are available on some distros and also you can compile it yourself. The AppImage usually takes some days to be available.
Unfortunately not in mine yet (opensuse leap 42.3). But I’ll wait for the AppImage. Thanks.
The wait is over! It’s there 🙂

Thanks!
Which icon is fixed under Wayland?
App icon is still wrong.

releases are (usually) here: https://files.kde.org/kdenlive/release/
i hope that 17.08.3 appears on this list soon 🙂
How can I install this on Ubuntu 16.04? Is there a ppa?
Please always link to appropriate installation informatin, video editors are not developers and need these kind of information, thanks!
Not A Robot, please get acquainted with how Linux distributions work. Follow the Download link in the header you’ll land on a page giving details for different distributions. Given the obvious labor Farid put into describing installation for many different distros I would expect users to make good use of this resource self-service.
For Ubuntu 17.10 you should find Kdenlive installable from the GUI or aptitude, even apt-get install kdenlive. Only use ppa’s once you’ve got a minimum working knowledge of Linux/Ubuntu distributions.
Ah, the old developers thing. Funny enough, most of us here are actually video editors, not developers. And we’re even not in Linux for itself. So don’t do the dev blame dance; it’s boring old and incorrect.
As for the references: there’s clear reasoning why we have the easily discoverable download link right in the header (and even another one in the footer) … because that’s the single source of truth. People landing on older posts thus will never see stale links. Not that we invented this design, so many other sites are also practicing this. But I take with me to trigger Farid to always include the download page link to help those missing it.
Duly noted good sir. Will also try to work with JB to in order to prepare AppImage files in time for release date.
I came here looking for an answer to the question “is there another way to use kdenlive 17.08 on ubuntu 16.04 w/o using the appimage.” Because I like to edit the default effects.
I am a RHEL sys admin, and know linux very well. I use several distros at home.
Not a Robot’s question is legitimate. @The Dive O – what a truly unwarranted and disrespectful response. Farid’s response below about using the appimage is an example of a respectful response, if you need an example.
@The Div O – if you’re a developer on the kdenlive project, thanks for everything you do on that front. But wow.
If this is the type of feedback this forum provides, I’ll figure it out on my own.
Your comment could be understood such that you prefer and encourage asking questions that have been answered prominently on our download page. Now that you are emphasizing that you are an admin, you seem to be the perfect person to answer this type of frequently answered questions. Just hop on board and we will happily leave this type of questions to you to answer. Simply drop us a note and welcome on board!
Well we’re done here. You sound like a troll on your own forum. Nice friendly forum.
A couple of parting points…
1) “…answered prominently on our download page” – where?
2) From your download page… “For Ubuntu >= 16.04 and other *buntu based distros like LinuxMint you can download latest Kdenlive from our official PPA’s:” – simply not true for 16.04.
I don’t doubt your ability as a developer, and I love kdenlive. But as a rep of the kdenlive project on the kdenlive forum – you were rude. Surprisingly rude. Twice.
Good luck! Looking forward to the refactoring branch.
Hi ShiftyDog,
I thik the word rude doesn’t apply here. Maybe you can say straight or blunt. Either way don’t take this too personal as I know Dive0 is a very competent person and great contributor to the project. 🙂
Buen trabajo. Gracias.
Todos mis trabajos realizados con kdenlive.
Dear Dev,
Why there is no build for Ubuntu 16.04? Still old version on ppa-stable. So sad that you do not support LTS.
This is because of dependency problems with QT. Use the AppImage version from the download page.
Static libraries can be linked to the executable and shared libraries should always correspond to a specific version. What is the problem?
Waiting .03 version for Windows 😉 “For my boss ! lol I use the Linux one !”
Hi !
Me again…
If I want to compile it myself for Windows…There is an howto or anything else for help ? (I see one for Linux)
I Have VS2012 on Windows or I can on Linux too.
Thanks !!
Dear Farid, I use kdenlive for all my videos and I am very happy with it. There is just one function I miss: the possibility to have a speed profile inside a clip to allow a smooth speed variation (and not steps) all along the clip. This function already exists in kdenlive for the sound volume. Do you think this is something you could implement? Thanks in advance for your answer. Kind regards.
How to Upgrade my Kdenlive Version 15.12.3 to this new version of Kdenlive 17.08.3?
I am running as the only OS on this Computer Linux Mint 18.3 Sylvia Mate
I followed the Instructions for Linux mint on the download page entered to my Terminal the commands and for some reason it only got Version 17.04.3
The appimage link does not work anymore. Please fix it. Thank you for your great work! 😉
Can we have a updated 17.0.3 version in ppa please… for ubuntu please
Until Ubuntu 18.04 your best bet is to use the AppImage version from the downloads section.
Cursor on timeline doesn’t move!!
Since version 16.04 LTS, the timeline cursor does not work, it is fixed at the beginning, even disabling the “Project Monitor”, the program locks and closes.
I already updated, I went back to the previous version and nothing.
Please note that here is not the right place to get help. Also note that a new version is out and if you are using Ubuntu you must use the AppImage version.
Eu desabilitei e o monitor de clip e o monitor de projeto… e depois reabilitei os dois… e voltou ao normal
