Unfortunately, l10n string still don’t show up properly: many parts of UI remain in English even if the po files contain translated content.
What OS and packaging type are you using?
Windows and macOS
Thanks for that release! It’s always appreciated.
But could it be possible to fix the Daily Builds links as it was last week, i.e., x86_64 standard AppImage, and not CentOS like it is now?
Thanks.
That’s not wrong so it does not need to get fixed 🙂
We are transitioning our Appimage builds to KDE Craft. CentOS in the filename does just mean that the Appimage was build on CentOS, it does NOT say anything about the target platform. We are using CentOS to make sure that the Appimage runs on older OS without problems too.
In general the KDE Craft based Appimage has newer dependency versions, that bring features and bug fixes missing in the old one (eg. the Command Bar from KDE Frameworks: Ctrl+Alt+I)
Please note that in the last days there was a regression in the nightly Craft Appimage that just got fixed for the next builds. If you face any issues please report them on https://bugs.kde.org so we can fix them until the next release (it is planned to switch the stable Appimage to the Craft based one with the next release).
Ah! It’s good to have the right information 🙂
I thank you very much!
I need silence split and delete option.
And
Remove empty space full project
Thank you for this latest release of Kdenlive.
I am applying to various TV organisations, and independent production companies for Video Editor type of work, and, I always mention that I use Kdenlive to edit my videos.
This includes the BBC, BBC Studios, the BBC Natural History Unit NHU, Independent Television ITV, ITV Studios, Channel 4 Television, Channel 4 News, Independent Television News ITN, and SKY TV, here in the UK.
I am hoping that in doing so, I can make these various broadcasting organisations more aware of this truly fantastic Open Source video editor.
When I right click on any image in the bin and select edit, an unreadable message pops up.
The message text characters are replaced with white boxes with black outlines.
I’m guessing there is a missing font but which one?
(kdenlive 21.12.2 appimage on Linuxmint 19.3)
The “Edit Clip” entry is supposed to open an external app to edit the image. Since I can’t reproduce your problem my first assumptions is that you configured a wrong app (eg. a text editor or something) in “Settings > Configure Kdenlive… > Environment > Default apps”, if that is not the case a screenshot would be helpful: please consider to open a bug report https://bugs.kde.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=kdenlive
Thank you Julius for your response.
The garbled error message is probably from “gimp” attempting to startup because the header is readable.
But, trying to edit an image (jpg or png) file from the kdenlive bin does not start gimp and trying to edit a sound (wav) file in the same way does not start audacity. This worked correctly in my previous 20.12.2 version of kdenlive.
When I checked the “Default apps”, they were set correctly (“/usr/bin/gimp” for images and “/usr/bin/audacity” for audio). Even so, I changed the gimp to “/usr/bin/gimp-2.8” and kdenlive crashed when I tried the edit even though this is a valid path on my system. I then changed it back to the original and tried it again and kdenlive crashed again. In either case after restarting from the crashes, the edit function did not crash as long as I made no changes to the “Default apps” settings. It seems this a new problem.
Since you cannot reproduce the problem, it may be a problem with my system.
I will use my previous version for now.
Does this fix when ever I open my project my videos / audio move around ?
Running a bit late… this issue was fixed like 3 years ago. 😉
I use and love Kdenlive, but hardware rendering freezes my system, I still render by cpu
¿Vida Frustrada? mal matrimonio?
how can i copy keyframes after tracking? i no more find the old copy button placed in the tracking effect window
see here: https://docs.kdenlive.org/en/effects_and_compositions/effect_groups/alpha_manipulation/motion_tracker.html?highlight=tracking
I would like to say a big THANKS for the new release and the bug fixes! The two most hindering issue for me, like the lack of proxy for the stablized clips, and the huge caching time at each project openning, are solved! Thank you! Kdenlive is truly evolving, I would say it is in party with much bigger players in many aspects.
Hi everyone.
My S.O is Ubuntu 20.04, Ryzen 5 3400G, 16GB RAM.
Today I had an important bug ( it’s the first time i worked with this app version ). The project was in 1080 29,97fps progressive. When i was rendering the clip, the render time stops in the middle of the timeline and the same with the render line red – green.
And you can’t do anything with the program. In fact the program does a crush.
Since 20.08 versions i can’t work with kdenlive. I still have to working with 20.04.2 version.
It’s sad because the new versions have cools effects :..-(
This is odd, is it happening with the PPA? Can you try to reproduce with the AppImage or Flatpak?
Yes, it happens with this last ppa.
You can run the app without problems and using effects ( in fact I tried defaults luts …. great !!! ).
The crush happens in the middle of the render process to load all effects in timeline to see your project.
This morning I worked with 22.04.3 version doing the same project ( obviously I created a new timeline ).
And it works without any problem …
So rare … maybe my S.O version ?, maybe when the sistem updates library software ?
I love this program, it saves my life. Nothing to envy with Premiere … it’s my opinion.
Sorry … I can work with 21.04.3 version, not 22.04.3
Ok, but can you try to use the AppImage or Flatpak and see if you have any issues?
Sorry, sorry sorry Farid Abdelnour.
I wanted to say that the bug problem with the render is using this last appimage 21.12.2
I confused the concepts ppa – appimage 🙁
Since I know kdenlive I always work with appimage. I don’t install the program by ppa.
I hope u understand me now XD …. and you could have idea about this bug.
Please open a bug report here: https://bugs.kde.org/ and try to provide as much useful information as you can like what kind of footage, any effects, etc…
Has the improvements to monitor zoom affected the jlk keys for Windows users?
I use two monitors and lose keyboard control in full screen mode.
Whenever I use stabilize effect on a clip, the stabilized version will loose highlight information, will be more contrasty then the original. It looks like that stabilize effect converts clips from 0-255 to 16-235 range. Could this be corrected?
For me it looks like, that the problem must reside somewhere in the .mlt involvement in the stabilization process. Using ffmpeg vidstab in an other environment (Shutter Encoder) would not cause the same effect. The difference is that kdenlive will create a .mlt for the stabilized clip. Just a hint, if you would have time to work on this :).
I installed 21.12.2 over previous version on Windows 10 Pro 64bit, and it crashes after starting the app. Any tips?
Uninstall Kdenlive, better delete the folder C:\Program Files\kdenlive and install Kdenlive again.
I installed Kdenlive because I want to try it out and a lot of people saying that this a great software, but every time I open it crashes after I do something
How did you install it? Which OS are you using?
I love Kdevlive. I think when I can have sequences within a project it will be a giant. Are there plans to associate (approximate) Kdenlive with Bledner? attention with bugs. I still recommend kdenlive.
Nested sequences are planned for this year. As for connection with Blender, what do you have in mind?
I think he was referring to the sequence in general and not group of nested elements in the timeline, like sprites. Some editing software call scenes.
In Adobe Premiere Pro, sequences are smaller video projects within your main project. This is a way to organize scenes into longer videos, create different “drafts” of your video, or keep a series of videos connected in one place, without having to start a whole new project.
If you want to put all your sequences together on a single timeline, you can do that too, using Nest Sequence.
I’m sorry if I’m getting into where I shouldn’t, and as I always say, thanks for Kdenlive!
This is exactly what nested timelines are. You will be able to have tabs with different timelines and reuse segments from one to another… There is already an alpha work in progress: https://invent.kde.org/multimedia/kdenlive/-/tree/work/multitimeline
Wow, this is wonderful!!!
It is an important tool for editing large and or complex videos and in its most basic use, a good way to organize the project and the timeline and having it in Kdenlive will be a dream.
Sometimes we can’t find words to express our happiness, so thank you, thank you very much!
If it would help to find the problem, I installed it at a ThinkPad X201, using an Intel i5 1st gen CPU, with no seperate graphics card. However, the previous version (over which I installed this one) worked just fine!
Uninstall Kdenlive, delete the folder C:\Program Files\kdenlive and install it again.

Hello everyone!!!
I was waiting for the 21.12.3 release scheduled for March 3rd, but I couldn’t find it to download.
Has it not been released or am I not sure where to go?
Not yet released. It just a matter of hours or a couple of days. It happens often. Be patient 🙂
Yes, I will always be with the best video editing software ?
Flatpak version is already available in Flathub. AppImages and other packages will be available on Monday.
Oh I’m so glad they started making it available! I use Kdenlive on the Windows environment/platform… I’ll be waiting for my turn in the queue ?

You are served! 🙂
Ohhh I almost jumped out of my chair now from so much happiness… Thank you so much Sylvain and all of you from our beloved Kdenlive…
Know that I have a lot of affection, admiration and respect for everything you all do, for this wonderful project ❤️
Guess what? I’m downloading it right now!!! ??
Always a big, big thank you all… proud to be a Kdenlive user
Please add silence detect and remove features, like scene detection.

I discovered kdenlive a few months ago, and I’m really liking it. I have however discovered a little quirk. I’m not sure if it’s a bug, or something I’m doing wrong, so I thought I’d mention it here. I’m using it to compile a slide show of old and new pictures in my area, so it’s just a collection of stills with fades between them. I have found that on some (not all) of the fades, the picture jumps sideways slightly at the beginning and end of the fade, probably by only one pixel. You can see it in this YouTube video where the picture jumps slightly to the right at around 12 secs, and slightly to the left at around 18 secs. Is this a bug, or is there something I can do to stop it?

Keep up the good work guys!
Interesting, do you have any effect applied? What kind of transition are you using? Maybe you can share your project so we can debug this.
I normally use just the standard “wipe” between two videos – by dragging the purple dot. I have also tried using the “luma” composition (which is what I mostly used in this particular video), and both give the same result. If you look at the other “Then and Now” videos on my YouTube channel, you’ll see it intermittently in those too. I’m happy to send this project file or any of the other project files if it will help you to debug it. I can also send you the still images that I used if necessary. If you want them, please let me know where to send them.
FYI I used version 21.12.2 standalone under Windows 10. I’ve just tried rendering with 21.12.3 using the download link you posted above, and I get the same result.
.blend file support.
Hi,
I’m suddenly getting my videos rendered with no sound. They play ok in Kdenlive. I don’t think I’ve changed any render settings (using WebM-VP9/Opus (libre) format).
Could this be an issue with 21.12.2?
Running on Ubuntu 21.10
